Itineraries

Day 1

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

We will pick you up early in the morning at your accommodation in Kampala/Entebbe or Entebbe Airport and drive you to Kibale Forest National Park. This national park is home to 13 primate species and thus has one of the world's highest primate densities. In addition to the unique experience of chimpanzee tracking, other habitats can be explored, in which a variety of mammals and birds can be observed. Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp Meals: lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking and Semuliki National Park

Today begins with an impressive experience, the chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park. After a short briefing, we enter the forest in small groups with rangers to search some of the approximately 1500 chimpanzees. First of all, the cries of the animals and their drumming on the tree trunks are usually heard. Often you see the big males of a group as an advance guard, before you find the rest of the group. We can now watch the animals for an hour, just enjoy it or shoot as many photos as possible. But no matter how, it will remain an unforgettable memory. If this time seems too short, you have the possibility to observe the habituation of other chimpanzees for an extra charge all day long. With those who have opted for chimpanzee tracking, we then drive to Semuliki National Park. This national park includes a part of Ituri rainforest, one of the oldest forests in Africa and one of the richest in species. Sitatungas, a species of antelope very strongly bound to the water, often show up at the park's hot springs. Particularly interesting is the park because of the bird species occurring there. In addition to many other birds, the park is home to nine species of hornbills, the giant turaco, the smallest woodpecker in Africa, the gray-spotted mouse woodpecker and the rare shoebill. Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included

Day 3

Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After a relaxed breakfast, we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a classic among national parks in Uganda, rich in wildlife with approximately 95 mammal species and about 600 species of birds. Of course we can not miss the stop at the equator monument at the border of the park. In the afternoon we will have our first game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we can see elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, various species of antelope but with some luck also lions and leopards. Overnight: Park View Safari Lodge Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included

Day 4

Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga Canal

We start early in the morning for the next game drive. In the morning, chances are high to see lions, leopards and hyenas, but also hippos who have not finished their night ramble yet. The animals are still active, as the temperatures are still low. During the day, however, more and more animals are looking for places at the water to cool off. In the afternoon we follow them and take a boat trip on Kazinga Channel. This is a natural connection of Lake Edward and Lake George. It has one of the densest populations of hippos worldwide. In addition, it hosts many Nile crocodiles, Nile monitors and on its shores you will find a variety of birds. Accommodation: Park View Safari Lodge Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included.

Day 5

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Today we travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwestern Uganda. We enjoy the mountain landscape there, which is heavily used for agriculture. Most of the mountains and hills are covered by terraces that are still used for cultivation of bananas, tea and yams. We stay for the night already in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and spend the evening relaxed in anticipation of the next day. Accommodation: Wild Olives Lodge Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included

Day 6

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today, we'll probably face the most impressive experience of our tour, the gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a short briefing, we start searching for the gorillas in the mountain forest together with rangers. Depending on the location and urge of movement of the respective gorilla family, this can take a little longer and thus be exhausting, but on request porters are available. When we have found the animals, we have an hour left. We observe how the animals behave in the group, the calm and serenity of the immensely strong silverbacks, the playfulness of the youngs and the care of the mothers. After this fascinating experience, we drive to the most beautiful lake in Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi, where we spend the night on one of the islands and talk about today's adventure in the evening. Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort Meals: breakfast, lunch or lunchbox, dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included

Day 7

Around Lake Bunyonyi.

Today we enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lake Bunyonyi. It has 29 islands, some of which we can visit on a canoe trek. But we can also explore the shores of the lake and the numerous settlements there. In the mountains we can visit the Batwa, which originally inhabited the forests of the area. They show us their way of life and their traditions. The orphans of Mwendo welcome us singing and dancing. With all this we have always beautiful views and see an unusual number of birds. After all, "Bunyonyi" also means "place of many little birds". Accommodation: Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner Drinks: water while driving, other drinks not included
